Stan VanderWerf Announces 2020 Re-Election Bid for El Paso County Commissioner


Commissioner VanderWerf was joined by colleagues, friends, family, and supporters at Sportivo Primo Restaurant (inside the Antlers Hotel) on Monday, July 22, 2019 where he announced is re-election bid for a 2nd term for El Paso County Commissioner.

Commissioner VanderWerf is a businessman and veteran who has faithfully served the voters of Commissioner District 3 since his first election to County Commissioner in 2016. He has worked hard on building relationships across El Paso County to improve transportation, public safety, economic growth, and community/workforce development.

He is the Chair of the Pikes Peak Workforce Center Board, Chair of the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council, and voting member of several additional boards including the Pikes Peak Area Council of Governments (PPACG). He has made extensive progress addressing workforce, economic development, and public safety concerns in El Paso County.

Stan said, “I am humbled and honored to have the support of so many citizens and community/business leaders. Commissioner District 3 is a growing and diverse area with many perspectives and talents that, working together as partners, will continue to build a better El Paso County.”

Stan brings a strong business background, public agency experience, and leadership skills necessary to continue great work in his second term as County Commissioner. Stan has a long track record of bringing people together to find innovative ways to solve problems and spend hard-earned tax dollars responsibly. He wants to continue working with the citizens of El Paso County who can rely on him as the County tackles the challenges of our thriving communities.
